it is already the last week of semester 1. amazing how time has passed by so quickly. i went to the coveted overseas secondary 3 camp at Mersing, enjoyed myself like the students (i was often mistaken to be a student by the external instructors) yet slept in the resort instead of in the tents. got myself a glorious tan despite slathering myself with sunblock.
our school finally hosted the North Zone B boys soccer tournament on our 2 year old artificial pitch. it was a good thing to host as it really rallied the rest of the school to support the boys. i was tasked to conduct PSME lessons, represented the other 2 when meeting with parents and building rapport with the darlings of my class.
with the new English syllabus, i was given a lighter marking load for the recent exams. got that done almost immediately after receiving the scripts. proud of myself!
nevertheless, i am welcoming this june holidays with open arms. well almost. i am quite heartbroken and i am guessing i will be quite lonely. hah. but, me, being the independent and positive person that i am, has plans lined up for me! travel plans have finally been confirmed and i am excited just to get out of here for awhile.
oh! last Saturday, after a very long time, i went to the Esplanade. i was there to watch horses! yes, horses! it was the Singapore Arts Festival and i found out that there was going to be a performance with real horses. titled Flux, it was performed by a French husband and wife team. the play explored the ideas if Centaurs lived amongst us. half of it was in French and i barely understood the whole thing. i was particularly mesmerised by how they handled the beasts while acting. it was truly amazing how they coordinated with the majestic stallions. rather disappointing that i didnt understand the whole play, but it was a delightful sight to see the horses upclose.
soccer wise, things took a different turn last Sunday. due to a tummy upset earlier in the day, i was not playing my usual game. not helping than Don came late and i had to cover her position. i have been so used to the central position it took some time to adapt. we were down 4-0 to Young Women when lightning struck. eventually the game was cancelled and it has been postponed to be played next Wednesday, much to our delight. given a second chance, i hope i will be all better to play my all. also, hopefully continue my scoring streak.
by the way, i scored again, last Wednesday against Winchester at Jalan Besar. it was a fluke actually. haha. i meant to pump the ball back to their half but it went all the way to their post after lobbing their keeper. still, a goal is a goal and my name is on the scorers' list! and that only comes once every 10 years? i cannot even remeber the last time i scored!
