i watched Defiance. its a war movie set in Eastern Europe in 1941. 4 brothers managed to escape the Germans and stayed in the forests. eventually other refugees joined them and they stayed together as a community to survive nature and the enemy.
Daniel Craig starred as Tuvia Bielski, the commander of the Bielski Partisan. his other brothers were Zus played by Liev Schreiber (he was in Kate and Leopold. he was Kate's boyfriend before Leopold came running through the time rip), Asael by Jamie Bell(of Billy Elliot fame!) and Aron by George Mckay (an English child actor).
its just heart wrenching to see them trying to survive. how the enemies kill the innoocent ones without mercy, was just chilling to the bone. my heart was beating so fast through out the whole 2 hrs.
towards the end of the movie, it was stated that the partisan lived in the forests for nearly 2 years and the number of refugees were up to 1200.
after the war has ended, 3 of the brothers managed to relocate to the US. Asael served the army and got killed 6 months after.
ANYWAY! the pinnacle of tonight's movie experience was not even the movie! there was this particular man. he was sitting infront of me. as the show was showing the opening credits, i was whispering to my friend. note the word, whispering. the man infront of me, turned around and told us not to talk. we were shocked. my friend wanted to retaliate and say sumtin. he was staring at us for a whole ten seconds, waiting for us to be silent. i was so furious because he was being such an ass for doing that. and i thought that was it!
after awhile, a group of 5 of what seems to be teenagers sat in the same row as him. they were fidgeting around trying to settle down, when that particular man, leaned forward to the younger man 2 seats away frm him, probably, telling him and his friends to quieten down. one of the teen boy reacted by switching sits wif his friend to sit beside this particular guy and then leaning towards him saying something in return. that particular man, then immediately stood up and walked out. a minute later he came back to his seat, motioned to them that the usher was looking at them. i was like WTH!!
why did he have to do that? those buncha teens were not even disturbing anyone! and like wat can the usher do?
after the movie, the people in the front row left quite abruptly. i wanted to stay bck awhile. wanting to get a lool of that particular man. he was a nicely dressed man with his blue shirt tucked into his work pants. my friend noticed that he was not local. i did not care about his nationality.
when i left the theatre, i was again shocked to see that man talkin to the usher. i heard the usher askin him who this buncha kids were. n that particular man said that they went to the toilet and he wanted to wait for them to come out.
i am appalled! to know that he is actually pursuing this stupid matter and wanting to confront those below 20s! they did not commit a crime at all! GOSH.
so what happened next?? i dont know! because i left.
ok. i shall sleep now.
// we shall not be like them
